Lizzie Emeh

This page is in memory of Heart n Soul artist Lizzie Emeh, who sadly passed away in November 2021.
Listen to Lizzie
The glorious posthumous reggae album Listen To Lizzie is out now.
It’s a celebration of Lizzie’s unique voice and her talent and passion for songwriting.
About Lizzie
Lizzie was an integral part of Heart n Soul for over 20 years. She made history in 2009 when she launched her debut album Loud and Proud, becoming the first solo artist with a learning disability to release an album of original songs in the UK.
She followed this up with See Me, a three-part EP trilogy taking a closer look at her life experiences of love, relationships, family and mental health.
Lizzie shared her talent and music performing across the UK, Europe and Asia. She won two national awards for her contributions to music, performed at Glastonbury and toured across South Korea.
Another highlight was performing at the London 2012 Paralympic Games opening ceremony alongside leading UK artist Beverley Knight who once described her as “the princess of soul”. Most recently she was included in the book ‘Made Possible’ edited by Saba Salman, looking at the achievements of people with learning disabilities in the UK.
Most significantly, Lizzie wanted her music to touch and educate people. She wanted them to learn about her life and to be inspired.
Her posthumous album, Listen To Lizzie, is a celebration of Lizzie’s unique voice and her talent and passion for songwriting. Expect to be taken on a journey of empowerment and love, with her ear for a hook weaving through every track. The album brings together brand-new music recorded pre-lockdown, with songs created during the pandemic and previously unreleased tracks.
“I sing from the heart, I sing about true life, in every single track there is a story behind it and behind my life. I am opening up the doors of my life just for you to get me and find the spirit and motivation that anything is possible.”
She was a life force and will be forever missed.
