Electric Fire in Hong Kong

One More Song!

In April 2019 Electric Fire flew over 6000 miles to bring their egg electro and chain funk sounds to Hong Kong! This is the story of their incredible adventure.

The radio documentary above follows the band, William, Ehima, Sam and Alicia as they travel to Hong Kong for their first tour overseas! Recorded by the band themselves and edited and produced my Marie Horner. As you follow their journey you hear more about the members, their experiences, the people they met and the incredible reaction they got from all the crowds they performed to.

They were invited to perform at the first ever international conference on learning disability arts organised by i-d Arts “How Far We Can Go?”. Richard Phoenix, Heart n Soul’s Associate Artist who has worked with Electric Fire since they began, went to the conference to share what Heart n Soul does and the way we do it. They were joined on the trip by Lizzie, our Project Manager, and the families of the band members who you all hear from in the documentary.

Electric Fire performed three times; an acoustic set at the conference, a late night set at The Aftermath Bar in central Hong Kong and as part of the closing carnival of the conference at VESSEL!

We recorded all these performances and compiled a live album which you can listen below. You will hear the all the crowds they played to chanting “One More Song!”.

Thank you to Marie Horner for editing the documentary and everyone involved at id Art and Aftermath Bar in Hong Kong. This trip was kindly supported by Help Musicians UK.
